She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA before serving as the Clinical Research Coordinator for the Drexel University LADDER Lab. Rebecca’s primary research interests lie in the development of interventions aimed at improving treatment adherence in youth with chronic conditions, the role of peer relationships in treatment adherence in adolescents with chronic conditions, and factors that facilitate positive adjustment to receiving a diagnosis in youth and their families. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys knitting, reading on the beach, and snuggling with her cats, Bean and Coal.

Hannah Hardiman is a first-year graduate student in the ADAPT Lab. Before starting at WVU, Hannah received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia (Go HOOS). She then worked jointly at the NIH and the University of Maryland as a postbaccalaureate faculty research assistant. Hannah is broadly interested in working within pediatric psychology with families and children living with chronic medical illnesses. She is particularly interested in investigating factors that affect adjustment, coping, and psychosocial functioning in pediatric patients with these chronic illnesses and their families as a way to inform intervention development. Outside of academics, Hannah loves hiking, watching reality TV, and dancing.

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate research assistants in the lab get hands-on experience with conducting research. As part of our team, undergraduates have the opportunity to assist with recruitment, data collection, and data analysis on lab projects. Additionally, there are opportunities for learning data management skills, career exploration, discussion of pertinent research articles in the field, and RA’s walk away with a broad understanding of the science we are investigating.
