CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS

Resilience in T1D

Resilience in T1D is a study that will be focused on investigating youth with Type 1 Diabetes and understanding how different resilience and social factors play a role in patients’ overall quality of life and adherence. As part of this study, we are also interested in understanding how grief may play a role in influencing patient outcomes.

d-ACTS Project

The d-ACTS project was a study that focused on investigating a number of factors that affect adherence and transition readiness in adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes, including family and parent factors. Rebecca’s thesis project examined how diabetes-specific psychological flexibility is related to adherence (as measured by collected HbA1c levels) and whether diabetes-specific parental distress and family conflict moderated this possible relationship. She successfully defended her thesis in Spring 2024.
